Worth 4 marks. Write half a side of A4. (in the exam: tonight, you write on your blog)

One example where camerawork is used in the segment to create meaning is when the two Community Support Officer's are walking in the town centre. Firstly, the movement of the camera, by using a following shot with a hand-held camera this creates a sense of real life and makes the situation which the PCSO's are about to be involved in feel personal to the audience, so they make a link and can sympathise with the officers. Furthermore, using a variety of shot types creates meaning, for example, using a shot reverse shot gives the emotion and feeling of the officers to the audience. The first shot is of the officer's faces beforehand, where they are evidently carefree and only slightly observant to their surroundings, the next shot is of a threatening digger exploding onto the civilized scene. The final shot of the shot reverse shot gives the PSCO's feeling after seeing a worrying sight, they visably look fearful and anticipate that something is about to go wrong.

In response to recieving a urgent call, a backseat shot is used to again provide a sense of real life urgency and therefore meaning. This shot is also used to enhance the seriousness of the situation, by having a clear view of what Jake and Ryan are experiencing, and how fast they are going to get to the scene where havoc is breaking out. A close up perspective shot of the police car tyre is also used soon after; this magnifies how ubruptly Ryan changes his route when he is on route the wrong way, again elevating the sense of importance with the whole scenario. This use of camerwork mainly provides exigency and causes an intense atmosphere, which feels personal to the watcher.
